- Heat Transfer
-
- The main exchange
- of heat and cold in
- the car is the
- radiator. The
- radiator contains a
- vast surface,
- thanks to the thin
- "gills" in the
- radiator core.
- This means that
- large amounts of
- heat can be
- dissipated by an
- appliance that does
- not take much
- space. Air flowing
- over the gills
- helps the process
- immensely, and is
- the reason why all
- cars have a fan
- that sucks air
- through the
- radiator.
- Radiators are
- constructed of
- copper-brass or
- aluminum, both
- metals that are
- excellent
- conductors of heat.
